Special attention deserves the sea fortress Suomenlinna, now part of the city limits. You can reach it by ferry from the Market Square. The medieval structure literally breathes the story of knights and kings.
In one day, the whole city is not bypassed, so stay here longer. Restaurants with surprisingly tasty local cuisine, as well as various bars, theaters and concert venues provide great opportunities for entertainment in the city.
The best time to visit the capital, of course, will be the Christmas holidays. Helsinki turns into a fabulous city in which a holiday reigns on every street.
