Helsinki Walk

Today, they can easily rent a cottage on the lake, and relax in the fresh air, without worrying about anything. And if you want to diversify your vacation, you can go to inspect the nearest city.

Of course, if you rented a cottage in the vicinity of the capital of Finland – Helsinki, then you are lucky. In this city there is where to go and what to see.

For example, we recommend for inspection Senate Square and the Cathedral. In the center of the square stands a monument to the Russian emperor Alexander II, who played a major role in the history of the development of Finnish independence.

Also visit the Temppeliaukio unique church, which is created entirely in rock. It was built in 1961 by architects Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen. The internal volume is carved in stone, the ceiling with a diameter of 24 meters is decorated with copper wire. The rounded copper roof creates unique acoustics. In the church quite often concerts of organ music.

Noteworthy is the area south of Torgovaya Square and the Southern Esplanade. There, along the coastline are located yacht clubs, wonderful terraced parks, from there a beautiful view of the bay. You can easily rent a yacht and take a walk along the bay.

An interesting area where formerly wealthy Petersburgers staged themselves cottages. It is located on the very edge of the South Harbor, behind the Silya Line terminal. Now it houses, in one of them is the Museum of Mannerheim.

Special attention deserves the sea fortress Suomenlinna, now part of the city limits. You can reach it by ferry from the Market Square. The medieval structure literally breathes the story of knights and kings.

In one day, the whole city is not bypassed, so stay here longer. Restaurants with surprisingly tasty local cuisine, as well as various bars, theaters and concert venues provide great opportunities for entertainment in the city.

The best time to visit the capital, of course, will be the Christmas holidays. Helsinki turns into a fabulous city in which a holiday reigns on every street.

Partly one of the main reasons for visiting Helsinki is shopping. Everyone knows that in the malls of the city you can find anything from brand collections to handmade souvenirs. Seasonal discounts, high level of service, as well as convenience of location made the Finnish capital a mecca for shopaholics from Russia and European countries.

Spend your holidays in Finland with pleasure and joy!
